Junior Morias has achieved his aim of a return to professional football after a deal was agreed for the striker to join Peterborough United, St Albans City have confirmed.

The 21-year-old former Wycombe Wanderers forward will complete his move to the League One club when the transfer window opens on January 1, having scored 12 goals in 21 starts this season for Saints.

Manager Ian Allinson told the club website: “When we signed Junior back in July, I said that the club would do everything possible to help him get back into the football league, so I’m pleased we have delivered on our promise. Junior is a great lad and has worked extremely hard this season and I have no doubt he will be a huge success at Peterborough.

“I would like to ask all our supporters to give Junior a fantastic send off on Boxing Day and I would like to thank him for his efforts whilst wearing a Saints shirt“.

The former Boreham Wood and Whitehawk player added: “I would like to thank everyone at St Albans City Football Club for the fantastic support during my short time here.

“When I signed for the club in the summer, I made no secret of my desire to return to the football league as a professional footballer and I’m extremely grateful that St Albans City have helped make this happen.

“I will always be watching out for the results come 5pm and I really hope the club go on to achieve promotion this season.

“I have one game left at Clarence Park on Boxing Day and I will of course give it my all to make sure we secure the three points.”
