Harpenden’s seemingly relentless march to Home Counties Premier League promotion has gathered more pace after the unbeaten Division Two East leaders thumped Letchworth by eight wickets.
Bradley Moses (three for 12) and Chris Arnold (three for 43) did the bulk of the damage with the ball yesterday, as the home side were dismissed for 149.
Opener Nick Lamb then continued his great form with the bat by hitting an unbeaten 66 to guide Harpenden home.
But there was disappointment for St Albans after they went down to a 48-run defeat at West Herts.
The Saints would have fancied their chances after Murtaza Hussain took five for 71 to help dismiss the home side for 182, but the visiting batsmen had very few answers to Matt Smith (seven for 59) as they fell well short of the target on 134.
