SPURS are believed to weighing up a £29.5 million bid for Valencia striker David Villa.

Juande Ramos is still looking to replace Robbie Keane and also hopes the move could see Dimitar Berbatov stay at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool and Real Madrid had been linked with the Spain frontman but both clubs have been put off by Valencia's demands.

Ramos has spent £43 million this summer but has recouped £38m selling Robbie Keane, Paul Robinson, Steed Malbranque, Teemu Tainio and Pascal Chimbonda while Younes Kaboul should complete his £6m move to Portsmouth this weekend, putting Tottenham's transfer acitivity in the black.

Ramos has all but given up on Andrei Arshavin and wants a new attacking option in before his side take on Middlesbrough in the Premier League a week on Saturday.

He also sees Villa as the perfect partner for Darren Bent, should Berbatov move to Manchester United.
