What a sad debacle this was.

In years to come we will look back at December 2009 in shock at the lack of urgency and conviction that the leaders of the world displayed.

I’m sure all there are lots of people currently pointing to all of the snow and rolling out the same old twaddle… ’How can the world be warming, look at how cold it is!’.

I used to think that all the people who refused to take climate change seriously would not be around to actually see the really significant consequences. Copenhagen, however, has changed my opinion – if the human race continues to procrastinate like this, then we will all witness the effects during our lifetimes.

I find it hard to believe that there are people around today who still deny the need to reduce man-made emissions, given the array of evidence around the world of climate change.

Our lack of global, coordinated action will mean that in 10-20 years time, surely even these people (apart from Jeremy Clarkson) will finally be changing their minds. Shame it will be too late by then.

Hmmmm.....

Well a Populus poll published in November 2009 showed that a mere 41% of British people accept as a scientific fact that the situation is largely man-made.

So it appears that you are in the minority. Perhaps they similarly "find it hard to believe" your views.

The first capital connect service has been crap since the driver dispute in November. The last few weeks being the worst with them only running 2 trains an hour to London on monday (when the weather wasn't even bad). Surely if they can only run a few trains then the fares should be reduced by at least 75%. On thursday they didn't even no where the trains were because they announced that they didn't no when a northound train was going to arrive at St Albans station. First capital connect do not seem to have a clue about running a train service and they still get away with ripping off passengers. I hope first capital connect are fined and lose the Thameslink franchise!
