There's useful information in The Guardian today about driving much more efficiently. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/nov/20/green-driving There are simple little things that make a small difference, like removing clutter that you don't need to transport, and making sure your tyres are at the right pressure.

But the biggest thing is how you drive. Avoiding unnecessary speeding up or slowing down is the key. By looking ahead you can accelerate and brake more smoothly. This will save a lot of fuel, a lot of money and a lot of C02.

And it needn't even slow you down. It's about travelling in the most efficient way.

Of course, using the car less is even better. But we don't want to hear lectures about that, especially when we are not provided with acceptable quality public transport or space for bicycles.
