The water of life

If it’s not raining outside at the moment don’t feel too pleased. Southern and Eastern England is experiencing the worst drought for almost 40 years. Without a wet spring and summer severe restrictions on domestic water usage might be introduced, while street stand-pumps could once again be commonplace. Yet any inconvenience we suffer in this country pales in comparison with the kind of water problems that bring death to people in many parts of the world.

It’s now your call just as it is in mine….

The wisdom teaching and life style of Jesus was that God’s Kingdom was not a matter of future time or geographic location, but it was a realisation of the God within. Right at the beginning of his ministry, in the synagogue in Capernaum, Jesus set down his marker – one that would lead him on a journey not only to the cross but that also would split later Christians and their churches even to this present day – is it possible for Christians to be involved in politics?
