When we started looking for our next family home in Harpenden 11 years ago we wanted an impressive detached property with significant square footage and generous garden for our young family. Having already lived in Harpenden since 1993 we were well aware of the benefits of this fantastic town. We visited a number of properties but nothing was available at the time which matched our aspirations and was centrally located in 'The Avenues'.

We then came across a plot of land and the opportunity of working with a local developer to create our perfect home which would achieve everything we wanted in the ideal location. Raybridge Homes had an extensive track record of creating bespoke homes delivered with an exacting specification and we were particularly excited to be able to tailor the design and finish to fulfil all our dreams for our new home.

As a family house, creating the open plan kitchen / dining / living space, accessing directly to the garden was central to the vision we had for the property. We love the way the area is flooded with natural light through the lantern roof windows. The large terrace overlooking the garden has been ideal for entertaining. Location:

The position of the house could not be more idyllic. A five minute stroll from our quiet road in either direction, takes you either to the wide open spaces of Rothhamsted Park and surrounding countryside or Harpenden High Street with its many boutique shops, and restaurants. The sporting facilities the town offers are superb including four golf courses, tennis clubs and a brand new sports centre within easy walking distance.

One of the main reasons we were drawn to Harpenden was the outstanding schooling provision. There are a number of independent schools to choose from but for us the exceptional state provision is hard to beat anywhere in England. St. George's secondary school (Comprehensive school of the year in 2019) and Roundwood Park infant and secondary schools are all close by.

Easy access for commuting to London, national and international travel has always been essential for us. The town's station is right in the town centre providing the Thames link service to central London in under 30 minutes. The M1 (junctions 9 & 10) and M25 are within easy reach with Luton and Heathrow conveniently within a short drive.
