Elizabeth Murton

In her first major solo exhibition, Between Materials and Mechanisms, Elizabeth has created an evolving sculptural installation which transforms the Art and Design Gallery on the University’s College Lane Campus.Murton will also host a symposium and deliver art sessions with groups of students from Lakeside School, Welwyn Garden City.

West End Magic

Coming to the Radlett Centre directly from its residency at the Leicester Square Theatre is London’s premier magic show, featuring Borehamwood magician Stephen Barry, along with some of the most exciting names in magic and variety in the UK. Justin Hayward

The vocalist, lead guitarist and composer for the Moody Blues – who were honoured on the Rock Walk Hall of Fame on Sunset Boulevard – with hits including Nights in White Satin is. His works also include solo hits Forever Autumn and The Eve of the War for Jeff Wayne’s Musical War of the Worlds; now coming to The Alban Arena with his new album Spirits of the Western Sky.

Life and Death of the Wicked Lady Skelton

Rowland Hughes, principal lecturer in English literature at the University of Hertfordshire, has published a new critical edition of the famously scandalous novel by Magdalen King-Hall, Life and Death of the Wicked Lady Skelton, which tells the story – which some believe to be true - of a female highway robber terrorising the county’s roads in the 17th century. He will talk about the novel, which was written in the 1940s, and how much truth there is to the legend of the real female highway robber, Katherine Ferrers, on whom the novel is based.

Graham Parker & Brinsley Schwarz

Lead singer of the British band Graham Parker & the Rumour is coming to Harpenden. Graham has worked with guitarist Brinsley Schwarz, who he has played with since 1975, with Brinsley often accompanying him on records and tours. His energetic performances and wittily class-conscious spirit preceded the arrival of punk rock and new wave music.
