Five local artists working in a range of different media will display their pieces in an exhibit at Bushey Museum from Saturday November 14 to Sunday February 14.

The exhibition poses the question Craft or Art? and examines the overlap of art and craft and debates if one is superior to the other while also presenting the wide range of techniques on offer.

The group of five artists cover a range of media from paints to sculpture and their work illustrates themes from the mundane to the fantastical.

Marie Keshishian crafts necklaces out of translucent beads and delicate pearl style chains while the dreamlike landscapes of Judith Wrackley are crafted from a paints and textiles with intense splashes of colour to create vibrant, living landscapes.

Stained glass windows are the trademark of Barbara Rowbottom and her vivid colours and iconic shapes offset simple designs like a snail shell with a striking graphic pattern.

The sculptural pictures of Caroline Russel have a vintage feel despite the boldness of the medium. Caroline uses sculpture and paint to form the plaster on canvas design and illustrates these with sprays of cherry blossoms and springtime birds.

Finally, Roy Sandy of Oxhey Village Pottery completes the group with his sculptures of elegant everyday objects in beautiful natural tones and unique designs.
