Los Chicos Muertos will be returning to The Farmer’s Boy, London Road, St Albans for a festive fiesta.
The band, many of whom hail from the area, are well known on the acoustic and festival circuit and regularly tour on the continent but this is a chance to catch a local appearance.
Front man Grae J says: “We’ve lost a lot of great artists this year and we did stop by Bowie’s old apartment in Berlin when we were touring but in true Day of the Dead style we prefer to celebrate their contributions than to get too maudlin. We always have a fun time at The Farmer’s Boy and our Christmas show will be no exception.”
With a new album expected early in 2017, Los Chicos Muertos contains various members of The Trailer Trash Orchestra and play a heady mix of country, folk and blues-punk.
Whilst the band have a penchant for murder ballads they are likely to throw in a festive tune or two including tracks from last year’s December Songs EP.
134 London Rd, St Albans AL1 1PQ, Sunday, December 18, from 8.30pm. Details: farmersboy.info
