Watford's iconic bandstand will play host to a summer of free live music and dance performances.
For the third year running the bandstand in Cassiobury Park will be a focal point for the council's Big Events programme.
Every Sunday afternoon, from June to September, there will be a different performance at the bandstand between 2pm and 4pm, including the popular music and dance extravaganza BigJiveSwing on Sunday, July 28, from 10am to 6pm. There will also be weekday performances, including a summer solstice event on Friday, June 21, called Make Music Day UK, with acts including Electric Umbrella and Anglo-Cuban band the Swanvesta Social Club.
Peter Taylor, Elected Mayor of Watford, said: “Cassiobury has been voted one of the UK’s top 10 parks and it’s easy to see why when we are able to put on such first-class free shows for our visitors, with excellent local and international performances right here in our own town. Please do visit the bandstand and enjoy some fantastic live performances this summer.”
