The line-up for this year's Herts Jazz Festival has been announced.
Local jazz legend Chris Barber, who was born in Welwyn Garden City, and his band will headline the three-day musical extravaganza along with the John Taylor Quartet and Georgie Fame with the Alan Skidmore Quartet.
Plenty of other big names from British jazz will also play at the festival, which will be held at the Hawthorne Theatre from September 12-14. The programme will include Ben Castle, Art Themen, Jean Toussaint, Orphy Robinson and Anthony Kerr, Clark Tracey, James Pearson, JJ Wheeler and more.
This will be the fourth Herts Jazz Festival and will have a similar format to last year’s with free of charge sessions in the foyer during the session intervals and after hours.
Festival Director, Clark Tracey says: “We are proud to have established the Herts Jazz Festival as part of the British jazz calendar.
“I think we’ve got something for every jazz-lover over the weekend, from the legend that is Chris Barber to up and coming new star JJ Wheeler."
Festival weekend tickets will go on sale on May 1. Details: hertsjazzfestival.co.uk
