I looked up startled!  Something small sped across the room and behind the electric fire. It could run a marathon!  Did I really see a mouse in my              ( reasonably) clean home ? A mouse in the neighbouring  field would have been endearing. This mouse was definitely in the wrong place.

At the moment, there’s a quivering mass of tadpoles on the surface of my pond. It’s a fascinating sight, but I do not want them in my bath!

You wouldn’t wear a bikini in the office I hope! It’s the wrong place.

Sometimes we feel that we don’t fit into life. We are in the wrong place. Things don’t always work out right and there’s no back-up comfort on hand.  Why do we feel like that?

I go back to God on this. Christians believe he created the world and although we humans messed it up and inherit the result, there is a way to feel good again.  I’ve heard people say that when they come to believe in Jesus Christ for themselves, they’ve, as it were, “come home”.

Yes, ordinary life throws all sorts of problems at us, much worse than my rather trivial mouse problem, but with a heavenly Father to turn to, we can cope. Sometimes the Bible translates the word Father as Abba, or Daddy. We can be in the right place and know his perfect peace when we belong to his family, when we “come home”.
