Ambulance crews have rescued a man who fell in to a quarry in Colney Heath this afternoon.
The hazardous area response team (HART) was sent off-road through tricky terrain to help the man who had fallen from a bicycle and couldn't move.
A response car, ambulance and the HART and the Essex Air Ambulance attended the incident at 12.23pm today.
Martin Cross, Ambulance HART Supervisor, said: "The man had fallen and suffered a dislocated ankle so we transported him via our Polaris vehicle through some deep sand and very steep terrain.
"Crews provided him with pain relief and were able to reset his ankle before he was transported to hospital."
