A busking event in St Albans city centre has raised more than £1,500 for a HIV charity.
Following on from The Crescent's successful two week exhibition in the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban, which was mentioned by Stephen Fry on his twitter account, organisers of the second busking day this year said it was a "resounding success".
Organiser Ian Murtagh said: "It has proved beyond doubt that St Albans is a caring and supportive city, with a number of indie retailers and organisations willing to help others in need.
"From the lovely fashion shows organised by Chloe James (twice this year) to the generosity of The Boot, (again twice this year) it is clear that a caring and charitable spirit exists amongst the local business community.
"We should all do our bit to support these local people as much as they clearly support us when in need."
