MORE than £1,000 has been raised by dedicated volunteers in Worcester for Christian Aid's 2015 Christmas appeal.
A variety of fundraising activities helped generate the fantastic sum which will be spent on protecting people in Nigeria against malaria.
Singers from churches in the St John's area of the City performed a carol concert at Sainsbury's in Swanpool Lane, while a coffee morning and soup lunch at St Stephen's Church in Barbourne also contributed to the total.
Christian Aid's mosquito net bedecked entry into Worcester Cathedral's Christmas Tree Festival reflected its focus on malaria for this year's fundraising appeal.
Around 250,000 children aged under five die from malaria in Nigeria every year.
Donations made to Christian Aid's Christmas appeal will be matched pound for pound by the UKAid Match scheme.
