On June 9, 2016, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them. On same date, sent an article to a person which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety. Two counts. Community order made. Have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months. Participate in Building Better Relationships for 30 sessions. Restraining order made. Costs: £170.

Andrew Michael Ward, 31, of Arthur Road, St Albans. On January 1, 2016, assaulted a person by beating her. Three counts. Committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for two years. Carry out unpaid work for 200 hours within the next 12 months. Restraining order made. Compensation, costs: £1,200.

Friday, July 29

Danielle Lee, 20, of Abbots Avenue West, St Albans. On June 28, 2016, used a vehicle after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion in breath was 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. On same date, used a vehicle without a licence; used a vehicle without insurance. Disqualified from driving for 18 months. Fine, costs: £575.

Barry Christopher Ings, 29, of Martins Close, Radlett. On July 8, 2016, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them. On same date, had with him in a public place a knife. Community order made. Carry out unpaid work for 140 hours within the next 12 months. Costs: £170.

Linda Colman, 67, of Roundwood Lane, Harpenden. Between February 1, 2016, and February 15, 2016, dishonestly made a statement to a local authority with a view to obtaining Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit for another person. Fine, costs: £1,156.
