A mother who gave birth to premature twins has vowed to raise £18,000 for charity by the time her children are 18 years old.

Lorna Dickinson, 37, from St Albans, will be throwing a Halloween Party to raise money for Bliss, a charity for premature and ill babies.

Mrs Dickinson’s children, Eloise and Joshua, who are now two, were born at 32 weeks weighing just 3lbs and 2lbs. The twins spent a month in Watford Special Care Unit. To show their appreciation and to raise awareness, the family have pledged to raise money for the charity until the twins are 18.

She said: “We are incredibly proud to continue our fundraising for Bliss as part of our £18,000 by 18 campaign.

“Bliss do incredible work for lots of families at such a life changing time. We would like to thank all of our family and friends who have supported this fundraising so far.”

This will be the third Halloween party for Bliss, last year the event raised £1,624. The children who attend the party are sponsored for dressing up in Halloween costumes.

The invite only event will be held at Greenwood Park, in St Albans, and will provide entertainment and a disco for the children.

Businesses in St Albans and Harpenden such as Hartbeeps Music Sensory Classes and Soccatots have also joined in to support the charity and will be offering free activities to the children that attend.
