Friday, August 26

Khaleeq Kahil Urehman, 38, of Brampton Road, St Albans. On August 24, 2016, used a vehicle knowing that it had been taken without the consent of the owner. On same date, used a vehicle whilst disqualified from driving; used a vehicle without insurance; failed to provide a specimen of blood in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence; had in his possession one wrap of heroin. Committed to prison. Overall length of sentence 16 weeks. Disqualified from driving for three years. Costs: £200.

Tuesday, August 30

Mohammed Istihak Ahmed, 39, of Tassell Hall, Redbourn, St Albans. Between May 12, 2014, and February 8, 2015, committed fraud in that he failed to disclose relevant information to Department for Work and Pensions. Two counts. Community order made. Carry out unpaid work for 80 hours within the next 12 months. Costs: £170.

Shilpara Khatun, 39, of Tassell Hall, Redbourn, St Albans. Between May 12, 2014, and February 8, 2015, committed fraud in that she dishonestly failed to disclose to St Albans Council information which she was under a legal duty to disclose. Two counts. Fine, costs: £415.

Jake Matthews, 22, of Hazelwood Drive, St Albans. On May 9, 2016, used a vehicle when the proportion of a controlled drug in his blood exceeded the specified limit. Disqualified from driving for 14 months. Fine, costs: £525.

Roy Alan Stallard, 36, of Alder Close, Park Street, St Albans. On May 22, 2016, stole food items belonging to Sainsbury. Fine, costs: £90.

Peter Lewis, 40, of Valley Road, St Albans. On February 9, 2016, used a vehicle at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 30mph. Fine, costs: £327. Three penalty points.

Niall O’Hara, 43, of Folly Lane, St Albans. On February 9, 2016, used a vehicle without insurance. Fine, costs: £811. Eight penalty points.

Gary David Sandell, 45, of Aplins Close, Harpenden. On February 4, 2016, used a vehicle at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 50mph. Fine, costs: £564. Six penalty points.

Rebecca Sawiuk, 27, of Avian Avenue, St Albans. On February 3, 2016, used a vehicle at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 50mph. Fine, costs: £238. Three penalty points.

Harry Shipton, 21, of The Haven, St Albans. On February 4, 2016, being the driver of a vehicle failed to comply with the indication given by a no entry sign. Fine, costs: £327. Three penalty points.

Laura Rafferty, 42, of York Road, St Albans. On February 2, 2016, used a vehicle at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 30mph. Fine, costs: £100. Three penalty points.

Wednesday, August 31

Milton Vambe, 46, of The Berries, Sandridge, St Albans. On April 9, 2016, failed to hand over his ticket for inspection when asked to do so by an authorised person. Discharged conditionally for six months. Costs: £15.
