Artist Petra Geggie has opened her storeroom in order to show paintings that have not been exhibited before.
Each of her works shows a history of inspiration through to its conclusion. It allows you to glimpse ideas, places and objects that are often eclipsed in the final work. Visible thought processes and abstraction speak to the senses through strong use of form and colour and the texture of the paint itself.
A love of travel, wanting to know more about different cultures and finding out unexpected connections between them have all fed into Petra’s paintings and fuelled her fascination for exploring new media.
Apthorp Gallery, Radlett Centre, Radlett, WD7 8HL, Wednesday, October 5 until Saturday, October 29. Details: 01923 859291, artep-gallery.co.uk
