Three events coming up next month at the Radlett Centre...

Grease

RARE Productions have announced that the next show gracing the Radlett Centre stage will be the 1950s American smash hit Grease.

 Open auditions will be taking place on Saturday, March 10, 2pm to 3.30pm for 8 to 12 year olds and 3.30pm to 5pm for 13 to 21 year olds, and Thursday, March 15, 5pm to 6pm for 8-12 year olds and 6pm to 7pm for 13 to21 year olds, at the Radlett Centre in preparation for show week, which will be running from July 19 to 21.

The auditions will run for about 20-30 minutes. Young people are auditioned in groups of 10 to 12, and will be taught an excerpt from a song from the show, a short dance routine and will be asked to read a short piece of dialogue.

There is no need to prepare anything. Just be sure to wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for dancing - we cannot allow anyone to audition in socks or bare feet. It’s all very relaxed and informal so we will look forward to seeing lots of you there to audition for this exciting production. There is no need to book an audition - just turn up in the time slot appropriate to your age.

This brand new show sees Clare and her excellent musicians effortlessly traverse a rich landscape of timeless and sparkling material, with standards from the grand masters of the Great American Song Book, Cole Porter & Rodgers & Hart to witty and urbane song stylists of the 50’s & 60’s Cy Coleman & Carolyn Leigh & Dave Brubeck, there’s always a nod to more contemporary writers and originals too.

So you think you know about dinosaurs

Dinosaur aficionado Ben Garrod will take audiences on an exciting pre-historic adventure through an interactive, educational and highly entertaining show. With the help of TV film footage from BBC’s Planet Dinosaur and photos of his own palaeontological dinosaur digs, he will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about dinosaurs - and more.   

Ben has presented several television shows, including Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur with Sir David Attenborough,Hyper Evolution: Rise of the Robots for BBC Four and The Day the Dinosaurs Died on BBC Two.
