Residents, staff and volunteers at a care home have been celebrating after being rated as ‘Outstanding’ following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Abbeyfield St Albans Society, at Grace Muriel House, was praised for its attention to detail, which resulted in personalised care for those who make use of it.

Inspectors from the CQC noted that “without exception”, the staff are caring, kind and dedicated in their approach.

Annette Gibbons, registered manager at the home, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.

“I am very proud that our team has been recognised for the excellent support and care they provide.

“The whole team, not just the care staff, are incredibly passionate and caring, and will always go the extra mile to ensure residents and their families are at the heart of all that we do.

“Grace Muriel House has been part of the St Albans community for nearly 46 years and has always strived to deliver the highest quality support and care for older people.

“We have seen many changes in social care over the years and have always risen to new changes and we hope to continue that into the future, encouraging more people into this rewarding career.

“We now look forward to hosting a special celebration with the Grace Muriel family.”
