The Lord Chancellor and MP for south west Hertfordshire ran a street stall to show his support for a candidate in this week’s mayoral elections.

David Gauke paid a visit to Watford this week where he chatted to people involved in businesses and met up with George Jabbour, who is the Conservative candidate to replace Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill.

Mr Gauke said: “I have always enjoyed close links to Watford, my neighbouring constituency. It is a vibrant town and the MP Richard Harrington has used his considerable influence in government to great effect here.

“The results are clear in the level of investment the town has enjoyed in recent years, providing stability and an economic hub to the region, which my constituents are very grateful for.

“I am also impressed with the Conservative Mayoral candidate George Jabbour. He has shown great potential to deliver for Watford through his professional expertise and high level of business experience; he would be a valuable asset for the town.”

George Jabbour will compete for the title of the next mayor of Watford at the end of this week alongside Labour candidate Jagtar Singh Dhindsa and Liberal Democrat candidate Peter Taylor.
