Discussions over future funding of a children’s respite service are set to start this week.

Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group’s Finance and Performance Committee will hold a private meeting to discuss issues surrounding Nascot Lawn, in Langley Road, Watford, on May 4.

Families won a judicial review in February that the Commissioning Group should have consulted with Hertfordshire County Council regarding their plans to stop the £650,000 of funding for Nascot Lawn.

Following the discussion on Friday, the Commissioning Group will then make a decision which will form the recommendation to be presented to the full board on May 10.

Parents will be emailed with all the details ahead of the meeting next week.

A Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group spokesperson said: “In line with our governance procedures, on May 4 our finance and performance committee will debate the issues and discuss a detailed paper.

"Following that discussion, they will make a decision and that will form the recommendation to be presented to a meeting of our full board on 10 May. The board will be making the final decision for the Commissioning Group.

“This is a meeting to be held in public, where we allow observers and where we are also discussing and making decisions on other matters.

“We continue to recognise the strength of feeling about the future of Nascot Lawn and, as agreed previously, we will update all parents through an email after the finance and performance meeting and make the board papers available in readiness for the following week’s board meeting.”
