Tommie Hoban was the standout performer from Watford’s loan contingent as he found the net in Aberdeen’s 1-1 draw with Hibernian.

The defender opened the scoring with a scrappy effort in the first half of the Scottish outfit’s clash, only to see Jamie MacLaren net an equaliser after the interval.

Hoban, 24, is looking to rebuild an injury-hit career which has seen suffer with a number of fitness issues and was pleased to get off the mark for his latest loan club.

He told the Aberdeen website: “It was great to score; I don’t get too many. It was only my fourth senior goal and it is always a great feeling.

“It is good to get my Aberdeen account up and running so early, but today I would rather have had the clean-sheet and taken the three points.”

Elsewhere, Dodi Lukebakio came off the bench for Fortuna Dusseldorf to play 11 minutes of their 2-1 defeat against FC Augsburg.

Randell Williams helped Wycombe Wanderers to their first League One win of the season as the Chairboys secured a 2-1 triumph against Bradford City on Saturday.

In La Liga, Juan Camilo Hernandez played the full 90 minutes as Huesca held Athletico Bilbao to a 2-2 draw on Monday night.

Finally, Alex Jakubiak was introduced from the bench but couldn’t prevent Bristol Rovers going down to a 1-0 defeat to Southend at Memorial Stadium.
