Watford boss Javi Gracia is aiming to make the most of the international break despite suggestions a pause from competitive action could impact on the Hornets’ form.

A memorable 2-1 comeback win against Tottenham Hotspur saw Watford go into the break with a perfect record to their name.

They will return to action when Manchester United visit on Saturday, September 15 and Gracia expects his side to benefit from the time away from competitive action.

“I think it is always a good moment to rest. Some of the players are looking forward to going with their national teams as well which is normal,” Gracia said.

“For the rest of the players, it is a good week to rest for two or three days and to train as well.

“They will come back with a good mentality and I do not mind if the break is after winning or a defeat. I prefer to adapt to the games and the break and to enjoy every moment.”

Gracia will hope a fortnight without a game will provide the chance to get a number of first-team players back to full fitness.

Gerard Deulofeu has been back in training and could well be fit to play some part when Watford take on the Red Devils.
