A wing of a hospital had to be evacuated after a small fire broke out.
West Herts Hospital Trust has confirmed a fire broke out in the Gloucester wing at St Albans City hospital at 12.30 today.
As a precaution, aorund 100 people were evacuated. These were mainly patients attending appointments and members of staff.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The trust understands the fire started in an electrical motor in the roof of the Gloucester wing but it was contained within the area and quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Services resumed as normal at 2.30pm.
