A group of coffee shop workers will show an MP how to make the perfect cappuccino when he visits their charity.

Watford Mencap will welcome Watford MP Richard Harrington to their community Café in the Library on November 2 to show him the work they have been doing.

The MP will visit the Watford Central Library café to be shown the ropes on how to make a proper cup of Fairtrade coffee.

The café mentors and supports trainees and volunteers in developing new skills in catering, customer service and hospitality.

To date, six people with learning disabilities have completed their level 1 training course.

Café workers raise vital funds to help Watford Mencap deliver support services for children and adults with learning disabilities in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere.

Mr Harrington said “As a champion of business in the constituency I am proud to be a supporter of the Café in the Library.

“They not only raise vital funds for local charity, Watford Mencap, but also mentor and train people with learning disabilities empowering them to be active part of the community.”
