A photographer has won an award for her business in taking portraits of newborn infants.

Nevina Holland, 40, Morris Way, London Colney, was announced as the winner of the London Colney Community Awards.

Her business Peekaboo Studios specialises in high-end new-born portrait photography in a studio behind her house.

Ms Holland says the experience of taking photos of babies is a rewarding one which allows her to be as creative as she wants.

Such as babies on the moon, in hot air balloons or in traditional dress.

She says: “Even when I was writing press releases and I had to creative.

“The emotion that I get in response just blows me away.

“I always walked around London, I went travelling 10 years ago to Southeast Asia to South America and just seeing different people – now I have turned this into a business.

“I think everyone should make a get photographs of their children and make legacy because babies don’t stay small for long and it’s something for people to be able to look back on.”

Ms Holland used to work in marketing with brands like Costa Coffee, David Lloyd Leisure, Waitrose, Asda and Safeway.

She left her job to pursue a lifelong passion in portrait photography.

She added: “I simply cannot believe that I won the Chairman’s Award.

“I was not expecting it at all.

“Peekaboo Studios has won so many National Awards in the last two years but it means more to me to be recognised in my own community where I was born and raised.”
