In American the Democrats have taken back the House, providing a check on Donald Trump's power for the first time in two years. In the UK the Central Line drivers are striking over pay and conditions. Finally, perhaps, the disenfranchised masses have had enough.
Enjoy your commute.
Weather
A miserable midweek morning, in which dark, heavy clouds will intermittently drizzle.
Tube
The Central Line and Water & City Line are both not running today due to strike action. Taking a bus is probably the easiest way to get into central London if you are on the Central Line and want to remain on public transport. TfL is running around 150 extra buses during the strike, but has warned passengers to allow more time for your journey as these will probably be busy. A number of different buses all serve central London, so follow @TfLBusAlewrts or visit the TfL website for more information.
On TFL Rail there are severe delays between Paddington and Heathrow Airport while a faulty track is fixed.
Traffic
In Edgeware Station Road is closed both ways from High Street to Manor Park Crescent due to a building fire. Police have also taped off some of the footpath as well for safety reasons. There is a detour in operation and twelve bus routes are being diverted.
On the M25 there is slow traffic due to earlier stalled van on M25 clockwise from J24 to J25.
In Enfield a traffic signal failure on London Road One Way Street at Genotin Road has caused delays.
