Santa may find himself in contravention of data protection law this Christmas – at least if a sign at a Tube station is correct.
A daily quote sign in Edgware Station has reminded everyone, including the man in red himself, about the new data regulations introduced by the European Union.
The sign read: “He’s making a list.
“He’s checking it twice.
“He’s going to find out who’s naughty or nice.
“Santa Clause is in contravention of article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679”
It is currently unknown whether St Nick’s business will be able to survive in the post-Brexit era and if the Government plans to keep the current form of GDPR after the UK’s exit from the EU.
