A volunteer who has been going out during the night to give clothing and food to homeless people on the streets is holding a Christmas shoebox appeal.
Marc Brownstein, along with David Hoy and fellow volunteers, has been meeting people on the streets in Borehamwood and Watford for months, with a sole purpose of providing comfort and warmth to them.
He appeals for donations and the people of Borehamwood have been incredibly generous.
But now Mr Brownstein is looking to go a step further with the festive season just around the corner. He is asking the community to fill shoeboxes with a mixture of items to hand out to the homeless community this Christmas.
Items can include toiletries such as toothbrushes, face wipes, shower gel, and deodorant; clothing such as hats, scarves, gloves, and coats; food including tinned food, sachets, biscuits, and cereal bars; as well as torches and pads and pencils.
You can also write a Christmas card too.
The aim is to ensure everyone has a present to open at Christmas.
Mr Brownstein will also be hosting a meeting at Holy Cross Church in Balmoral Drive, Borehamwood on Wednesday November 28 at 8pm.
He will be joined by fellow volunteers and it is an opportunity for new people to find out more about the work they do to get involved.
Finally, Mr Brownstein tends to travel to Watford to hand out his collections. Sometimes he needs help with transport so if anyone can help then please contact him.
