A man is in hospital after he was stabbed.

Police were called to Howard Agne Close in Bovingdon at 7pm yesterdau after reports of a clash between two men.

A dispute began in a house before spilling into the street.

One man, aged in his 20s was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his abdomen where he remains.

Police believe the men know each other.

Neighbours were told to stay indoors as armed officers carried out a search of the area.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Paul Perkins said: “We’d like to thank residents for their cooperation and understanding and reassure them they are safe to go about their business as usual.

“Meanwhile, our enquiries are continuing and I am appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information about what happened, to please come forward.”
