A major road has been shut for emergency repairs.
Watling Street is closed between Goodyers Avenue and Woodlands and it is causing gridlock in Radlett.
Affinity Water found a water main had burst yesterday and temporary lights were installed but it has now closed the road.
Drivers are diverting along the private roads that run behind Watling Street including Goodyers Avenue, Oakridge Avenue, and Newlands Avenue but people in Radlett are reporting that those roads are at a crawl.
People should divert along Radlett Lane, Black Lion Hill, and Harper Lane, but be warned there are traffic lights in Radlett Lane near the junction of Porters Park Drive which is already causing tailbacks between Radlett and Shenley.
There are also traffic lights along Harper Lane.
There are also queues along Park Road into Watling Street.
The other set of lights in Watling Street near Theobald Street have gone.
The road closure is expected to only be in place today.
