Cllr Grimston claims residents in her troubled estate are being let down by police, who increasingly focus on the town centre. I really don’t feel Cllr Grimston should be placing the blame with the police force that has seen their numbers cut to the bone these last eight years. Cllr Grimston’s own Lib Dem party must be held responsible for an absence of police presence not only on Watford streets but on every street in the UK because of their own stern and severe austerity measures when they were in government for five years.

If Cllr Grimston wants to blame someone for an absence of police presence on the Meriden Estate then she should be picking a bone with her own Lib Dem Mayor Mr Peter Taylor, who has managed to increase police presence in the town centre. I would like to think Cllr Grimston would agree with myself in having a lot of sympathy for the police because they can’t be in two places at once.
