A new registration system for people moving address is being set up.

Watford Borough Council will receive a slice of a £77,000 grant to help councils work together to start the work to develop a 'tell us once' on-line service.

The service is for new and existing residents who are moving home, the idea is that residents will only have to provide their details once in areas such as Council Tax, Electoral Services, Parking and Environmental Services.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “I want our council to be as accessible as it can be to people in our town.

“This project will help people here in Watford access the services they need quickly and easily.”

Head of service transformation, Andrew Cox said: “Watford Borough Council is one of the local authorities signed up for the Government's Local Digital Declaration, which helps councils transform their digital services and change the way councils invest in technology.

“I’m proud Watford is moving with the digital revolution to ensure residents are receiving the best quality digital services.”
