A knife-wielding robber stole a cash drawer from a shop late last night before fleeing the scene.
Armed police were called to the Welcome Rickmansworth supermarket on Uxbridge Road in Moneyhill after reports a man robbed the shop at knifepoint before making a getaway in a red vehicle.
Hertfordshire Constabulary were notified of the robbery just before 9.30pm yesterday.
Armed police and a dog unit attended the scene where a cordon was set up and extra police patrols have since been put in place to reassure people living nearby.
No one was hurt during the robbery and police enquiries continue to find the culprit.
