Scouts are preparing for their 40th show at the St Albans Scout and Guide Gang Show 2019.

More than 100 young people from St Albans take to the stage in an all-singing all-dancing production at the Alban Arena.

Young people aged 11 to 18 from Scouting and Guiding organisations across St Albans have been rehearsing since September to prepare for the show, which runs from Wednesday 13 February through to Saturday 16 February 2019.

Performing songs from an eclectic range of artists such as Lady GaGa, Rihanna, John Legend to the The Police, Dire Straits and Motorhead and from shows such as Greatest Showman, Annie and also children’s TV themes like Octonauts and The Furchester Hotel.

St Albans Gang Show is purely volunteer run with over 150 adults from St Albans creating the show.

Gang Show producer Hermione Drew said: “A Gang Show is a little bit like mixing the Royal Variety Performance and Britain’s Got Talent with an array of comedy sketches, large musical numbers and smaller, focused dance and harmony singing performances.

“This year we are looking forward to seeing dancing frogs and ducks, as well as reflecting on historic events like the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

“The shows content is all driven from ideas our cast and volunteers suggest.

“Rehearsals are going well and the show promises to be another fine example of what the talented young people in St Albans can achieve and a credit to the dedicated volunteer team we have running the show.”
