A new board game is seeking fundraisers to help raise the £9000 needed to take it to the next level.

Go Dotty is a new two player abstract board game created by Neil Barrie from Walthamstow which is looking for backing on Kickstarter.

The rules of the game are simple: connect the dots to create the most lines of three to win the game.

It is the debut game from Mr Barrie which was conceived in May 2017.

He said: "I came up with the idea of Go Dotty in a proper lightbulb moment, wondering what Dominoes and Noughts and Crosses would be like combined, after a week of scribbling more thoughts and working out the maths and mechanics, I had a working mock-up of the game.

"I’ve carried an evolving copy of Go Dotty around with me for nearly two years now."

The game is designed to be slick and sophisticated, but not over complicated, meaning that it’s aimed to be easy enough for ages of 8–80 to play.

The Kickstarter campaign is aimed to raise £9000 in order to take the game from being a two-player to a four-player game.

Games reviewer Sam Illingworth from The Games Research Network said: "Simple but with lots of strategy. Could pick up and play very quickly but also has lots of depth. I really enjoyed this."

Carly from BoardGeekGirl.com said: "Go Dotty doesn’t take hours to play but does get your brain working."

Ryan Saunders from The Inquisitive Meeple said: "I wouldn’t be too surprised if Go Dotty ends up in a national chain store’s game shelves in a couple of years."

If the game is successful on Kickstarter, it will go into production immediately, to be ready by September 2019, and on the shelves of retailers in time for Christmas.
