Schoolchildren will be able to take part in an immersive hospital operating experience following its success on BBC’s Dragons’ Den.

Operating Theatre Live will bring a human interactive dissection show to Watford Grammar School for Boys on Saturday, November 16, as part of a UK-wide tour.

The show offers children who claim tickets the opportunity to take on the role of a trauma doctor, dissecting “real specimens” led by human anatomist, Samuel Piri, and his team of clinicians, matched to UK exam specifications.

It gives students a chance to explore careers in medicine and healthcare while raising the profile of STEM subjects.

Participants will look at disease and pathology, using real surgeons’ tools under a post-mortem style scenario.

Mr Piri said: “I personally write the academic content and produce all of the activities myself. I and my team guarantee you a breath-taking, unforgettable trip through the human body like never before. Each student will leave feeling stretched and challenged having made measurable progress against the science specification, we've got them all covered.”

Students between 14-19-years-old may apply.
