A pro-EU demonstration will be held this weekend to persuade Parliament to let voters have the final say on Brexit.

The Harrow branch of European Movement UK is urging supporters to join the Put It To The People march organised by the People's Vote campaign this Saturday (March 23).

Activists have distributed more than 15,000 leaflets to Pinner, Hatch End, Stanmore, Canons Park, Rayners Lane, central Harrow, Wealdstone and Queensbury – according to the grass-roots movement.

Saturday's demonstration will begin in Park Lane at 12pm before heading to Parliament Square.

David Keys, secretary of the Harrow and Hillingdon branch of the European Movement, said: β€œThe people of Britain have the right to say yes or no to whatever deal Parliament ultimately agrees on.

"When we all voted in the referendum almost three years ago, we had no idea of many of the implications of Brexit, let alone what the final deal might look like.

"Now, because of the debates and other developments of the past few years, everybody is much better informed. Democracy did not stop three years ago. It is crucial that the public are given a final say.

"This demonstration will be one of the most important ever held in British history. The crisis facing our country is arguably the worst since the Second World War. It's crucial that, at this critical time, the public's voice is heard loud and clear.”
