Pupils, parents and staff at Lane End Primary School have all been enjoying a dance a day each morning in a bid to get active.
From 8.30am, children at the Edmonds Road school can be found dancing away with big smiles on their faces to anything from the Cha Cha Slide, Justin Timberlake to The Bee Gees and 1940s jazz from Glenn Miller.
Head teacher Debbie Williams said: “The aim of introducing a dance a day was to get the children outside enjoying some form of fun exercise each day, altogether.
“There is some research that suggests that dancing not only has a positive effect on self-esteem but can also have a positive impact on children’s performance in the classroom as a result.
“And of course, working together in a group to learn a dance to a wide range of music is also lots of fun.”
