Jonas Hurst and the Hurst Children’s Theatre Group are raising money for Cancer Research UK with a charity concert, entitled The Beat Goes On.

The event, to be held at Harpenden Public Halls on Saturday, April 27, at 7pm, will feature professional performers and the children from the Hurst Children’s Theatre Group. This will be the third such show organised by Jonas and the previous two concerts have raised more than £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The audience will be treated to 1960s pop legends Mike Hurst from The Springfields and Ray Renwick from Spencer Davis Group, as well as breath-taking dance routines. They will also see the amazing BIG Gospel choir, who have performed all over the UK, as well as opera sensation Jacqueline Varsay and 2018 UK Young Drummer of the Year J.J Wallace.

All proceeds from The Beat Goes On will be donated to Cancer Research UK. The show is being sponsored by local businesses including Contrada Group LLP, school uniform provider Stevensons and Harpenden Building Society.

Jonas said: “My decision to put on a concert really stems from my grandmother. She started The Hurst Children’s Theatre Group in London many years ago. She was always raising money for Cancer Research and then died of it, whilst still fairly young. She is a huge part of why I do what I do, as is my father, Mike Hurst, who is performing in the concert. He’s had a huge amount of hit records and he’s still performing, despite having spent the last few months being treated for cancer - which is one of the main reasons I decided to organise this concert.

“We hope the concert will be an evening of utter joy that anyone and everyone will enjoy.”
