In another night of violence on the streets of London, a young man was killed after being attacked by a gang of thugs.

Yesterday five stabbings took place across the capital in the space of as many hours.

The fatal attack took place in Harlesden High Street, Brent, police say a group of men attacked the 21-year-old man before he fled into a betting shop to seek help.

Police were called by medics and arrived on scene at 9.07pm.

He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he died at 2.47am.

His next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be held.

Seven men have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently in custody.

At 6.33pm yesterday another stabbing occurred in Preston Road, Wembley, following reports of two men fighting.

When police arrived, they found one man, 28, suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to hospital; at this time, his condition is being treated as life-threatening.

There have been no arrests and a crime scene is still in place.

The other attacks happened in Mitcham and West Drayton.

At about 10pm, two 17-year-old boys were hurt in separate stabbings in Mitcham in south London, and one man was stabbed in West Drayton at 3pm.
