Primary school pupils got their running shoes on last Friday to take part in their fifth annual charity fun run.
More than 200 students from Moreton Church of England Primary School on Church Road, Moreton, participated in the “Mile for Moreton” for St Clare Hospice and Friends of Moreton School (FOMS).
Despite the overcast weather, youngsters from Reception to Year 6 completed the track which ran from the school onto nearby fields and back round to the playground.
Year 6 teacher, Mrs Threadgold, said: “A fantastic fundraising afternoon was had by all, the children always look forward to this event and thankfully, the rain held off for us.”
Yummy Jobs, Epping Fruit Stall and Tesco all donated treats for the children to enjoy after crossing the finishing line.
Run by the school’s PTA, several parents were also in attendance of the popular annual event to cheer the children along the course.
All money donated towards this year’s event is yet to be counted, which will then be presented to the hospice’s mascot Clare Bear after half term.
