We speak to entreprenuer Bilal Hafeji of a new Preston based online jewellery brand site.
Tell us about your jewellery brand
Underwota.com launched in April 2019. We have a vast variety of elegant sterling silver jewellery at affordable prices. It’s perfect for women between 18-45-years-old.
Can you describe your professional history?
I am an e-commerce entrepreneur where I have worked and managed small ecom brands launch their websites to new markets. I’ve always had a passion in building and marketing websites. Over the years I have seen a lot of change in the online industry.
What was the catalyst to launch a jewellery business?
When I was young, I was fascinated with precious gemstones, hence I decided to undertake a course in diamond grading. This course truly inspired me to pursue my very own business in jewellery.
Do you think there is more versatility with sterling silver jewellery rather than gold?
Based on my research and previous experience I have found that there is more of a demand for sterling silver jewellery compared to gold. Also, sterling silver is just as elegant but more affordably priced than gold.
Can you tell me why you have chosen to support marine life and ocean preservation?
We will be donating 10% of our profits to organisations that support marine life and ocean preservation. I myself am a huge fan of sea creatures. After researching the ocean and the positive impact it has to the earth, I felt the need to help support and preserve our oceans.
Over 5 trillion pieces of plastic currently litter the ocean which endangers the sea creatures. That is why underwota jewellery plays a small part in helping marine life.
