Budget supermarket Lidl has submitted plans for a new store in Borehamwood.

The chain wants to build a second branch in the town and have identified a site in York Way off Elstree Way as the ideal location.

As proposed during the consultation stage, the new store, if approved, would be built on the Lupa House site and come with 122 car parking spaces including six disabled and eight parent and child spaces.

It is proposed that the Lidl food store will be open between the hours of 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday (including Bank Holidays), and 10am to 4pm or 11am to 5pm Sunday.

Access to the shop would be via a new entrance in Elstree Way while York Way would be used for deliveries and access to a new warehouse.

The proposed second store is not a replacement for the current shop in Borehamwood Shopping Park.
