There will also be vintage cars, besom broom making, spinning and weaving, basket making, and other rural demonstration skills to enjoy, as well as the chance to sample and buy in the arts, crafts and gifts marquees and lifestyle and food stalls.

A spokesman for the organiser Oakleigh Fairs said: “We are delighted to be returning to Knebworth for our fair, now in its tenth year, in a celebration of country life at its best as well as much more besides. It’s a fantastic setting and we really enjoy working with the team there.

“Our events are designed with the whole family in mind – we want to deliver a really good weekend that everyone can enjoy and we are bringing some fantastic new entertainment to the show this year.”

All proceeds from entries will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
