An innovative band are bringing their wellness-themed tour to St Albans next month.
Childcare have announced their UK tour in support of their debut album, Wabi Sabi, and will be coming to The Horn on Thursday, September 5.
As part of the group’s Get Well Soon wellness campaign, attendees can expect a mixture of mindful eating, yogic breathing and mass meditation alongside the band’s usual collection of left-field softcore psych performances. The Wabi Tour will also offer participants lavender scratch’n’sniff vinyl, personalised bath bombs, handmade scented candles and sleepwell audio meditations.
Childcare were formed by Ed Cares, formerly one of West London’s most in-demand male nannies. Ed enlisted local musicians Emma Topolski (bass/vocals), Rich Le Gate (guitar) and David Dyson (drums) to complete the group and they performed their first shows together at Reading and Leeds festival in 2016. Their skewed, off-center, softcore psych has gained them eager fans across the continent, extensive BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music support, and widespread online coverage.
