A 17-year-old was killed when a car crashed into a moped.

Police are appealing for witnesses after officers were called to High Road, Wembley in September 1 at 7:25pm, following reports of a car crashing into a moped.

The incident happened at the High Road’s junction of Thurlow Gardens. London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene to help the driver of the moped, a 17-year old boy.

The moped driver was taken to hospital and he was pronounced dead the following day.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place. Police have not released the boy’s name yet.

A woman in her 20s, who was driving the Volkswagen Golf which crashed into moped, stopped at the scene and assisted police with enquiries.

No one was arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles driving prior to the incident or has any dash cam footage to contact them on 101, quoting reference: 6734/1Sep.
